The Augrabies Falls National Park is located in the desolate semi-arid landscape of the northern reaches of the Northern Cape. The falls, known by the locals as the “place of great noise”, is accentuated by solitary quiver trees, rocky outcrops, and the mighty Orange River, giving it a mystical feel which makes exploring the park even more exciting!
Earlier in March our AEL students visited the park for a weekend in nature’s embrace, enjoying the daily hikes encountering various plants and animal species, trekking through the winding trails and taking in the full beauty of the experience!
The park exceeded our expectations – the landscape and scenery with such unique geology and dramatic falls and gorges were stunning! The hiking route and viewpoints are very well constructed, and perfectly situated for the best views.
